Workplace RelationsThe QIRC has granted an increase of $16.20 per week to the Queensland Minimum Wage and State Award rates of pay, effective 1 September 2009. Please note that this State Wage decision will not apply to employees of incorporated businesses (Pty Ltd companies).

NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
The NES came into effect from 1 January 2010. The ten standards in the NES are:
- Maximum weekly hours
- Requests for flexible working arrangements
- Parental leave and related entitlements
- Annual leave
- Personal/carer's leave and compassionate leave
- Community service leave
- Long service leave
- Public holidays
- Notice of termination and redundancy pay
- Fair Work Information Statement
The NES apply to all employees of companies, sole traders and partnerships.
